    • Warm Up: Independent Reading
    • Opening: Review P.O.V. homework & pre-lesson activity to Figurative & Literal Language (p. 103)
    • Work Session –
      • Instruction (I do): Vocab review & Intro to TP-CASTT Analysis
      • Guided Practice (We do): Read and annotate “Fire & Ice” (p.104) & Begin TP-CASTT
      • Independent Practice (You do): Answer questions 3-5 (p. 104, 105) & complete TP-CASTT
    • Closing: Check your understanding (p. 105) – Complete sentence frame

 

  • Friday:
    • Warm Up: Independent Reading & Log
    • Opening: Think-Pair-Share: What effect does the writer achieve by using specific sentence types and patterns (syntax)?

      • Independent Practice (You do): Text Dependent Questions (p. 111)
